Activities are tasks that you schedule and assign to client-side users (site managers, app users, or company administrators) for completion via the TruRisk mobile app. They are used to capture regular inspections, checklists, and operational records at a client’s sites.

How activities work

Every activity is based on a template from the Activity Library. A template defines the task’s instructions, questions, and data collection steps. When you schedule an activity, TruRisk creates an instance of that template and assigns it to the relevant user(s) at the specified site(s). The assigned user receives a push notification and completes the activity through the TruRisk app. Their responses are recorded and made available in the portal under the client or site’s Activities tab.

Key concepts

Activity Library — A centralised store of activity templates. Templates are either Public (provided by TruRisk, read-only) or Private (created by your organisation). Public templates can be duplicated to create an editable private copy. See Activity templates. Templates and versions — Each template maintains a version history. When you update a template, a new version is published. Previous versions are archived but remain visible in the Versions tab. Sections and steps — Templates are structured as one or more sections, each containing steps. Steps define what the user does or provides — a text response, a numeric value, a choice from a list, a date, a file upload, or a confirmation. Sections can be Questionnaire or Quiz type, and can be shown or hidden based on responses to earlier steps (branching logic). Scheduling — Activities are scheduled from a client or site record using the Schedule Activity button. You choose a template, set a schedule date and due date, select the assignment type, and choose which sites are in scope. Recurring activities can be configured to repeat automatically. See Scheduling activities. Statuses — Once scheduled, activities move through the following statuses:
